1956 Archaeologist Report for Knapps Cave

 Analyzing his 1956 dig in Knapps Cave above the St. Croix River near Cedar Bend in Scandia, state archaeologist Dr. Lloyd Wilford concluded that Native Americans used the cave as a campsite for centuries but had no permanent settlement there. Dr. Wilford describes his findings, including fragments of pottery and other artifacts.
